Else why would Movsar Barayev, the leader of the terrorists, have an officially issued pass from the FSB which allowed him to be in Moscow, while he was their biggest enemy ? Why did the FSB and the Russian military leave him and his family, well known "terrorists", alone when raiding homes of other rebels in their vicinity ? This is well documented by many international reporters and human rights workers. Think about the logistics, how do you get 50 rebels into Moscow, armed to the teeth, without be stopped at some check point somewhere between Chechnya and Moscow? And think about the fact that no antidote was available for the victims after the theatre was stormed by the FSB using chemical gas. Medical help was hardly organized, and most of those who died did so on their way to the hospitals. Russian doctors have stated that with minor preparations, most of the hostages who died during the "rescue operation" would still be alive at this very moment. While days were spent on the FSB operation to end the hostage crisis, apparently the health of those they were supposed to rescue was deemed unimportant. After all, without casualties in semi-large numbers, the West might not have accepted Putin's audition in the Global War on Terrorism theatre of operations.
